What is the actual purpose of &ETA used in ALV..and also the lists of similar variables used in ALV ?

&ETA is a function code. it is created in PF-STATUS object.In SAP, buttons and menus have f.code each. All are unique in a program. We can't create buttons without f.code.f.code is using to identify the clicked button at run time.

That is used to Show the Row Details in a separate popup.

It is more helpful when you have lot of columns , then scrolling will be difficult, in that case it is useful.

The rest try it your self.
