HI Gurus,
Can you please explain the difference between SRM Purch Groupp and R/3 Pur. grp.
I f a SC is created and follown doc(PO) is created in the background(R/3), from where the system will take the purch. grp and how.
Thanks in Advance.

Hi, all that other people told you is correct but remember that you have to have created in R/3 all purchasin groups that you used in SRM.
For example if you have purchasing organization A in SRM and purchasing group B assigned to it in SRM, you have to have created two organizational units in R/3.
When you create a shopping cart in SRM, depending of data that you have on configuration steps in SRM, system creates a purchase requisition or purchase order and purchasing organization for organizational unit that you used to create the shopping cart is put in field that corresponds in R/3. If not exists in R/3, document throws an error.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
In SRM Org structure, each Purchasing group is assigned with Pdt category (Matl Grp) and Organisation responsibility. You can see that data when under the Responsibility tab when you double click on the P.Grp.
When a shopping cart is created, the combination of the Pdt category & the requestor Organisation decides the selction of the appropriate P.Grp.
Hope this answers your question.

Hi
In r/3 Purchase group is not assined to Purchase Group but in SRM Purchase group must be assigned to Purchase organisation.
The Shoping card picked the purchase group from org structure in SRM (PPOMA_BBP).
You can see purchase group backend / Local assignment in PPOSA_BBP.
