unlock an object

Hi,

How to unlock an object in ecc 7.0?

In portal content, objects are automatically locked by the user. How to unlock those objects.

why some objects are automatically unlocking...I didn't locked any objects?

Objects will unlock by default in 36000 seconds...if u won't unlock it..

Objects will get locked mostly if some one is editing that object it will get locked for others

Hi James,

Regarding your question "why some objects are automatically unlocking??" i want to let you know that when you open any object(iView,page,role etc) on the portal content area for doing some work or for only to see, it is mandatory for you to close the same object imediately when you r trying to see another object.or u want to navigate to another page/role etc. If you dont close that object at that time once ur work has done it get locked & u get the msg "objects are automatically locked by the user".

To unlock this u have to go to the System administartion -->>Mointioring -->>Portal -->>Object Locking

Here u can see all locked objects.Select the objects u wnat to unlock and ckick unlock.

Always remember that locking object is not a good portal practice.

In Portal

Go System Administration --> Monitoring -->Portal --> Object Locking --> Select the locked object and click unlock.

Goto System administartion -- Mointioring -- Portal -- Object Locking --

Here u can see all locked objects, selct the objects u wnat to unlock and ckick unlock
