Solved: Help With WAD

Hi All,

I have a requirement to create a new web template and basically bring in all the queries into this web template. I have worked a lot on the query designer but not on WAD. Could someone give me documentation, links on how to go about WAD. Have two specific questions on WAD too.

1) How do we create a web template and where do we use JAVA/HTML in this.

2) What is the difference between WAD in 3.5 and 7.0

This link will take you to a pdf file which contains the details of how to create a WAD report from scratch, the usage and properties of all the web items.

My answer to your question is -

To create a new web template enter WAD, click on create and then drag web Items from the left hand section. Necessary Items will be present in standard, advance or miscellaneous section. The details of the web items that you can use in your template are in the pdf file.

In the middle of the screen you can see three buttons - layout, XHTML and overview. you can fine the coding of the template in XHTML section.

Hi Rashmi,

You can directly insert your query in WAD.

Or If you want see different , you can create views and select view also in WAD.

Open WAD~~> select NEW~~> there you can give how many table you want to insert i.e. ROWS & Columns-->Doag & drop table or chart in to that cell and select yuor required query/view.

--> execute it.
