Read PP Master Data happen in Background

Hi

In our scenario there is a regours BOM Change and MRP is to be carried out after every 15 days.

Hence metween two MRP period if there is BOM change happens then we need to do the Read PP Master Data to make the change effective in new Production order.

Please suggest is there any possibility that we can make this Read PP Master Data happen in Background while every conversion of Planned order to Production Order?

You will have to develop a custom logic to automate the read PP master data transaction.

Make sure whenever the BOMs are changed, they update the "Valid From" date of the BOM and if they create a new alternative then they create a new production version with the right "Valid From" date for new production version and change the "Valid To" date for the existing Production Version.

This will make sure that whenever you create a new production/process order from planned order the new master data is read.

HI,

what I understood that when u making changes in BOM, For new production order that master data should reads.

If this is the issue then U have no need to worry, because when u r converting plan order to production order system will automaticaly read master data.

and the main issue is ur MRP run result that u can adjust with ur next MRP run

In the next MRP run system will check the stock and plan orders and create the new requirement according to ur planning.

I think it is not available instsndard SAP.

This can be acheived in a different way, one of the possible way is when a user tries to release a production order there should be a user exit which checks if there is some change in the master data of the production order like Routing/ BOM, if there exists a change then it should not allow the order to be released. Then you can re-read the data and then proceed for release.

Hi Amit,

I think During Conversion to Plan order to Production order system will read all the Master data like Material Master / BOM / Routing / Resource - work center.So your problem should be either regarding MRP or after releasing the Order in case of Change in BOM.

But in all cases there is no standard option is available for Mass Read Master data or Back ground job for such purpose.
