Sorry for this crossposting but I hope to find some more answers. The original posting is at /thread/1059279 [original link is broken]

Hello,

I would like to develop a program to manage the downloaded components. For this I would like to create a list of the downloaded components with the support package level, the name of the component and so on. Later I want to ...

...compare this list with the components/support packages that are available to download.

...compare the list of downloaded files with the files of installed files on a specific system

For this I have several questions and maybe some of you can help me:

Is it possible to read data from the SLD? If yes, how? Are there any examples/tutorials?

How can I read the data of the downloaded file (I have seen that there are sometimes zipped files and some downloads have two files) in order to fill my list of available components? I cannot see a "format" that fits all file types? Maybe there is a list with all the filenames and the neccessary data like support package, release, ... ?

Thank you and hopefully you can give some informations,

Vanessa
