opening .rpt changes adobe print settings

Hi all

We are not sure what has happened here. We have a Crystal XI .rpt that when opened in the designer causes the settings on the Adobe printer (converts output to adobe pdf file) to change AND, not only do the setting change, but they get locked and can not be manually changed again by any user.

Any ideas why Crystal would be changing settings on a printer? What can we do in our .rpt to correct this malady?

Thanks

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Does your report (.rpt file) configured for any printer?

Is it possible to change report to "No printer" option and save?

There are many free Adobe printers available on Internet, which one you have ? did you try to install another Adobe printer?

Thanks for input. I can do this on my local copy. I don't know if I can get our production people to do it but I am suggesting it to them.

If this was to work, it really wouldn't explain the the cause of the problem though. I would consider it more of a work around since we have several hundred other reports that typically carry a printer setting with them. We are still open to other ideas here.

Thanks

Jeff
