Hi friends,
we require what are all the settings and things to be done for batch determination for raw materials .
requirement is what ever raw materials are received for those we have to maintain shelf life and based on this date system should do batch determination
when it is done while receiving goods ?
any other relevant details are aslo highly anticipated
please provide ur valuable inputs

HI Madhu,
You can do it by either by using T.code COB1 or by using MBC1 and better thing will be if possible than maintain it for both.
COB1 - is used when you want to do Batch Determination in Production / Process order itself.
MBC1 - is used during Goods issue / Goods Transfer or in other words during Inventory for example COR6N/COR11N/MIGO/COIK/MB26.
For doing Batch Determination on the basis of any characteristic you have to maintain sort rule.T.code is CU70.Here in your case you have to use characterstic LOBM_VFDAT in sort rule.

Batch search strategy
use COB1( for production ) or MBC1 (for inventory) with ME01 as a serach strtegy for your plant material and movement type.
Before this you have to create the required characteristics & assign it to the Class for the components .
You also have to create Sort sequence in CU70 .
