Friends,

Some of you may came across a sitation in which you are not able to open SAP Help file which is kept in a remote machine. Here is the solution.

-

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.

2. Locate and then click the following subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\ItssRestrictions

Note If this registry subkey does not exist, create it by using Steps 2a and 2b in Method 1.

3. Right-click the ItssRestrictions subkey, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

4. Type MaxAllowedZone, and then press ENTER.

5. Right-click the MaxAllowedZone value, and then click Modify.

6. In the Value data box, type a number from 0 and 4, and then click OK.

7. Quit Registry Editor.

After you install security update 896358, downloaded Compiled Help Module files cannot be opened

1. Required registry settings depend on your local infrastructure

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\ItssRestrictions]

"MaxAllowedZone"=dword:00000001

Typically value 1 or 2 is entered here. Actual required setting is determined by the location of .chm files in the customer environment.

2. If you have problems with the solution offered by article 896054 from Microsoft, create directly a message for Microsoft Support.
