Hi Deepak,

There are many issues with MI2.5 SP09 including yours. I suggest you to update to SP14.

You cannot install it directly as SP14 by itself is not a complete package, just a patch. You have to deploy it through webconsole. Get the client as suggested by Frank, BUT follow these steps for deploying instead of the link given by him; and it will be easy:

1. First, download and install MI Client 2.5 SP13 Patch00 on your laptop.

2. Create a new user on the client, configure 'settings' and then sync with the server to get an deviceID.

3. Upload the ADD_ONs SP13 patch 02, SP14 Patch 00, SP14 Patch 02 and then SP14 patch03 to the webconsole via http://<your_host>:50000/me/WebConsole/login (It has to be an ADD_ON)

4. For each ADD_ON perform:

a.Assign the ADD_ON to your device (deviceID) via the webconsole.

b. Sync with the client. On Synchronization the component will get assigned to the client device. On pressing 'Continue' button you will get the message stating that an application has being assigned to you with an option to start the installation process. You might have to restart the client to get this message.

c. Restart the client.

d. You should get a message that there is an application that needs to be installed if you have not got it earlier, press the START button.

f. Check in the INFO link on your device if it has really installed ...

>>You can directly installed SP14P02 after installing SP13P00, but sometimes it does not install properly.

You have to follow this sequence as you cannot install SP14 directly (as it not being a complete package).

Rahul

Hi Deepak,

Fill the "MobileEngine.config" file which is present in the path...

<Drive>:\<Path>\SAP Mobile Infrastructrue\settings

For Eg...

C:\Program Files\SAP Mobile Infrastructure\settings

Some of them to fill are...

MobileEngine.Sync.Gateway.Port=<b>Server-Port</b>

MobileEngine.Sync.Gateway.System=<b>System-id</b>

MobileEngine.Sync.Gateway.Host=<b>Host-Name</b>

<b>You should enter the values which are marked as bold.</b>

Hope it helps.

hello deepak,

could try executing MI using the startup.bat file

script which is located in your MI installation dir.

if the console closes right away, try opening a

prompt window and execute <mi_dir>\startup.bat from

there. please post whatever messages are shown in the

console.

HI Deepak,

I think this happened to me before. For some reason the uninstall wouldnt delete all the files. So Run the uninstall then goto your installation folder and make sure its deleted, if not delete all the files and folders.

I would also recommend you restart your machine. Then run the install again.

Hope this helps,

hello deepak,

you're getting

> C:\Program Files\SAP Mobile Infrastructure\settings\MobileEngine.config (Access is denied)

try looking on the properties of your MobileEngine.config

file. it might have been set to Read-Only. if it is,

uncheck it. or run the following DOS command in the console.

attrib -R "C:\Program Files\SAP Mobile Infrastructure\settings\MobileEngine.config"

if you have other program opening this file

and is locking it, close that program as well.

let me know if you have a different scenario.

Hi Deepak,

I think you do not have access right to your c: drive.

1. Just cut the "SAP Mobile Infrastructure" in the "Program Files" folder.

2. Copy it in another drive say d:\.

3. I assume that the d:\ drive has access rights to you.

4. Now change the "MobileEngine.config" file.

5. Run the "MobileEngine.exe" from the folder

"SAP Mobile Infrastructure".

Hope it helps.

hello maheswaran,

you have to change your path info in your startup/shutdown

scripts as well as your listOfJars.txt files for your

installation to run.

Hi jo & deepak,

I did have a look at it since it is in the first page of developer areas ---> mobile page. A very good weblog.

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/mi

I was bit incomplete in the previous reply. What i want to tell is that you can install mi both jsp & awt in the same client.

Refer this link... ( Refer the second question ).

http://media.sdn.sap.com/public/html/submitted_docs/MI/MDK_2.5/content/gettingstarted/introduction/F....

I the previous thread i forgot to say that...

1. After copy & pasting in the d:

2. Uninstall the MI client as specified in the link.

3. Copy it again to the same location.

<b>Alternate Solution:</b>

Since the access denied message comes. Deepak may install SAP Mobile Infrastructure on d: Drive.

Correct me if i am wrong.

Hope it helps.

Hi Deepak,

Welcome to SDN Forums....

For MI Client there are two versions....

1. MI for JSP.(For deploying a .war file)

2. MI for AWT.(For deploying a .jar file)

Usually these two are for GUI for Mobile Client.

Verify whether java is installed in MI-Client which is a must for running MI-Client.

Visit this link which is dicussing about the same topic...

Hope it helps.

Reward points for useful answers.
