Hi,

Sales order does make a kind of reservation for getting the stock from the plant which you can see in transction MD04.

Against this resrvation a purchase requisiion is created and hence purchase order and goods receipt are done.

Yes you can make the IMG setting in such a way that whenever you create a sale order and stock is available, it can be reserved for that order.

At the time of creating the sale order, if stock is not available and by the time if stock is made available if couple of sale orders are created for the same material, either you can reschedule the stock via V_V2 or do availability check for each and every order manually.

If requirements transfer is active in the schedule line category and requirements class then the reservation is done for the material in the plant.

You can also view in MD04 stock requirements list.

Hello to all Pros!

I have an additional question, that is;

You create an inquiry for material X for a customer Z, and then you can create a quotation for this inquiry.

If you create this quotation for lets say 2 items of material X, which has 5 pieces in stock, are these 2 pieces reserved for the offered customer Z ? Let's say after the quot, if an other customer Q sends an order for 5 pieces, is the 2 reserved still for customer Z?

hi,

The answer is no since there is no requirement transfer. U can check this in the schedule line settings.
