Frontend Unavailable is SP01

Hi All,

some consultant want to take print when they printout any report then print goes first in Waiting status in SP02 and when i click on it then it shows that

Frontend Unavailable

and when i click on it then status change in F5 status.

while other printing smoothly running like word, excel from Windows.

how is the printer defined in SPAD that those consultants print to? Using access method "G"?

Device Type: HP8150: HP Laser Jet8150 R4.x+

Device class: Standard Printer

Access Method: G

Host Printer: __default

That problem is known if the print is done by a batch job without a terminal connection. Is that the case?

You can´t use local printing for batch processes, you need to either configure the printer as network printer (on the server) or just create the spool request and print it out manually out of SP01.

The reason is obvious: The system doesn´t know to which terminal/frontend workstation to print if the process is running in the background. On top it can´t be ensure, that the workstation is still running when it´s about to print out.

I configured Network printer on server and add it in user end when i sent printer to configured printer then it first went warning and when i click on it then got below window

The spool request is already created, you can´t "redirect" it.

Create a new spool request with a network printer - means, access method not F or G.
