Filter for Generic document Search

Hi experts ,

i need a filter in the generic document search of by B2B internet sales shop. The user should be only allowed to find documents starting with "xy" in the reference numbers. I know that I simply have to edit the generic-searchbackend.xml, but how?

please check the Development and Extension Guide, page 101 and following. This explains how the xml document is built up in more detail.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I know that I could just edit the genericsearch.jsp, but that's not the solution I am searching for. It should be simple to make the change in the xml config file, if you know how?

Hi,

You can do this with java script in genericserach.jsp.

Just before you submit the page try to append the desired text for the field i.e for reference etc.
