Hi,
If I only need CHARMs - the requestor-changemanager-developer-tester-operator operation in my company, do i need to activate the BC sets and other configurations for Service Desk as well?
Is CHARMs linked to Service Desk in anyways?
Dear Friend,
yes ofcourse.
Service desk can me enhanced to meet all your req and utilized as a Change management tool.
Whereas CHARMS can be used if you want to automate the transports request which is a bit complicated.
For this u need to do lot of BASIS config like config Domain controller etc.
Whereas standard Service desk config is easy and even if you want to enhance or modify i.e. is simpler as compared to CHARMS.
CHARMS is best way to automate the Transport worflow in your system landscape.
Better first use Service Desk and later go for CHARMS
CHOICE is yours.
Please assing Pts.

You can configure ChaRM independently if you don't want to configure Service desk. If you are using third party service desk this is the option.
You need to definitely run the BC sets if you are configuring ChaRM either with service desk or without service desk.

Jim,
ChaRM is actually a functionality which is based on Service Desk.
Best in my opinion is YES to configure first Service Desk and then continue with ChaRM.
