Hi,
1)can position have 2 cost centers . can somebody give me an example.
2) what is report run to find open positions to which person can transfered from another organisational unit . with example.

Dear Shurti
You Can't assign two cost centre to one position with one validity date.
Because the moment you assign second cost centre to that position, system is populating a warning massage asking for delimiting the existing cost centre.
but you can assign different cost centre to one person through IT 0027.
Suppose a person is holding a postion of Executive (training) with 50% and another 50% is holding HR (Admin) so you can assign one cost centre to each position and assign two different cost centre through IT0027 (cost Distribution)

u know what i am thinking as u said that
1) one position is splited into two in ppome under work schedule
2) then in po13 we make relationship of the two splited positions with cost centers we want to assign
3) then we go to 0027 and do cost distribution step
i was thinking that step 2 and 3 are both neccesary steps to be done. means both are compulsary to be done.

i hope we can't assign two master cost centers to one position. but we can distribute costs of that position in two cost centers.
check whether your working in costcenter assignment or cost distribution.

If you want to assing cost center from OM i.e infotype 1018
use Tcode PO13 and choose A 11 which is cost centre assingment

1) what i understood is
cost distribution is done for short span of time.
then u said first i make relationship of position with that cost center in po13
then i must do cost distribution.
but tell me that first
how can i split position into 2 in %
then can i assign both splited positions to diff cost centers in po13
then i must do cost center distribution step.
2 ) how can i use 1018 for this procedure to assign cost centers.
3) at last is it conclusion that 2 cost centers cant be given to one position.

Please dont get too much confused
You are not spliting the person you spliting the just cost here
For example
if one person hadling two postions which belongs to 2 cost centres.

one person do the produciton half day rest of the he do sales his cost means salary shld split to both cost centre 50% each
like that we split will happend

I got it but tell me what is the case u are taking.
1) one position and 2 cost centers
2) one person holding two positions having two cost centers
3) but why we are giving percentage in work schedule
4) we were trying to assign two cost centers to positions na

suppose a consultant who is working in HR deparment and also Finance than he can have two cost centres with 50% each
