Hello Giridhar,
Iview is the basic unit of Portal element any application that we want to display in portal can be done by Iview creation.
iview is assigned to Page page to workset and workset to Role .

Hi,
Here is goes like:
1> iView-- Contains all information we want to display in Portal
2> Page-- It cosists of one/several pages
3> worksets-- Contains pages
4> Roles-- assigned to users/group of users
The way you are looking for is:
createiView-assign to Page-assign page to WorksetAsign workset to RoleThen assign that role to User/Group of User.

Iviews are Content Providers ( It provides the framework.They are basic building blks for Portal)
ROLE ( group of worksets )
WORKSET ( group of Pages )
PAGES ( group of Iview )
