Crystal Report X1 compatibility with Visual Studio 2008

We are migrating an application running on .NET 1.0 to .NET 3.5. Previously Crystal report X1 was working fine with .NET 1.0 however now when it has been migrated to .NET 3.5, we are able to generate crystal report but print and export functionality is not working.

Please confirm if Crystal report X1 is compatible with Visual studio 2008/.NET 3.5? We even updated Release 2 SP4 patch but that didn't solve the problem.

If crystal report X1 is not compatible with Visual studio 2008, which version is compatible so that we can buy the license for the same?

Thanks Fritz!!! We do not have crystal reports 2008. Question is about the compatibility of Crystal reports X1 and Visual Studio 2008.

What Falk meant with "crystal reports XI release 3" is Crystal Reports 2008.

Unfortunately, CR XI is not compatible with Visual Studio 2008 (neither Release 1 nor Release 2. Crystal Reports 2008 with SP0 is the version you need if you want to integrate with Visual Studio 2008. For versions compatble with CR XI, please check Falk's previous post.

CR XI R1 is not supported for VS 2008.

Thanks Falk for your prompt response. I tried searching for crystal reports XI release 3 SP 1 however no where there is a mention of the same. I only got results for Release 1 and Release 2. Could you please tell us from where can we get the Release 3 patch and is it available free of cost?

To make Crystal Reports 2008 compatible with Visual Studio 2008, you just need to run the Service Pack 0 installation from the link below:

SP0 is free of charge if you have purchased the full version of Crystal Reports 2008.
