How can we create the Alternate Unit of measurement

Hi,

Use tcode MM02, enter your material & enter. In top click Additional data field. Select Unit of measure tab page. enter alternate unit.

Hi Praveen,

You can create alternate unit of measure in additional data data tab of material master.Here you can define alternate unit of measure along with conversion factor with reference to Base Unit of Measure.

You can define production unit (which also called as Alt. unit) in work scheduling view and Issue unit in plant data 1 of material master.But in both case this data will reflect in additional data tab of material master.

Hi,

Go to material master MM01 or MM02, select Additional data tab on top and go to Units of measure. Here you can maintain alternative unit of measure.

For eg, consider an item pencil. We usually measure pencil each as an item. So base unit of measure is maintained as 'EA' (Each).

But when placing a sales order, we usually order pencils as packs, not as a single item. So we define alternative unit of measure as a PK (pack).

In that case, we maintain the conversion factor for EA - PK, like 1 PK = 10 EA (1 pack contains 10 pensils).
