Crystal Reports prompts

Crystal Reports prompts out of the box are not the most friendly prompts and they look awful.

A few versions back I use to use another Crystal Report as the prompt report to reference and I could design the look and feel to what I wanted but there was a problem getting the data refreshed!

I think Business Views is the way to go what do you think?

What functionality are you missing?

Regarding look and feel, you could modify the parameter window's html files (located in C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\crystalreportviewers115\prompting\).

E.g. you could modify the CSS file to change fonts, colors, spacing, etc.

You can use Business Views to create a reusable dynamic List of Values object, which you would save to your Enterprise system. If you don't need a reuasable LOV, you can create a dynamic prompt in Crystal Reports itself.

Hi Rick,

If you're looking to create a list of values or dynamic prompts, then yes you can create a business view in the Business View Manager to use as your parameter prompts.
