Batch Cost

How can we get the batch cost in SAP B1.

Hi,

Batch costing is not available in Business One. This is the system definition.

May be following information can be helpful :

The costprices (eg FIFO) are taken from the OINM table. The OINM table and the table of the batches are not related in this way. Only the Itemcode has implication on what costprice (FIFO) will be used when making a Delivery and what value will be posted to COGS.

When creating the batches you are only relating it to the itemcode, not to a specific FIFO layer in the OINM table.

To make it clear, when the system is deciding the cost price it looks at what Itemcode has been selected in the document row, it then looks at the OINM table for the next open layer for this item, the batch selected has no implication on this.

The only way around it would be to have separate Item numbers for each batch. We understand that this is not ideal for your business scenario but it would be the correct way of working the system to achieve the postings wanted.

Hi,

Though the accounting works in fifo or moving average , can the cost be updated in the batch record when the goods receipt or landed cost is done.

Similarly can the sale price of the batch be updated in the batch record when the sale takes place.

I am afraid that batch cost is not avialalbe in SAP B1 current version. There was a similar thread posted by the forum member (her name is Jenny Chua). There were some replies/answers to the thread. you could search it using search funtion
