we have the new codification for material for our client, my client wants that in purchase order they want a field that should display old material no.

can anybody help me...

hi,

there is no sap setting in SPRO for the same...

You can achieve it with the help of ABAPer....

Hi

You can use the field "old material number" into tcode MM02 and after include to message for print to PO. When you make the PR or PO you can search material by "old material number".

Hi,

You can activate BADI / EXIT for getting a New Tab in the line item. In the Custom Tab Created, you can add the field requested by the Client. Possibly you can use the Enhancement MM06E005. Function Module EXIT_SAPMM06E_006 may be checked for your requirement. If this Function Module won't server purpose, you may check with ABAPer for the relevant one.
