Can anybody explain what is exactly Colon authorization?

Does it mean we have to enter ':' as values in Authorization?

But where to enter this ?

Hi there,

Yes giving colon authorization means giving the ":" value.

You add this value in PFCG authorizations if you still use the old obsolete authorization method, otherwise you give it in RSECADMIN.

This value is used normally in hierarchies authorization.

It means you're giving authorization to the value in a aggregation method but not in detailed method.

For example you have comp_code with the value ":" and you have a query with comp_code in free characteristics but not in the rows or columns.

The user could see the values aggregated by comp_code but if he/she tried to drill down by comp_code he/she would receive lack of authorization since the user only is allowed to see the values aggregated (":") and not by a specific value(s) of company codes.
