Hi Folks,
Is there any way to control the access to elements within a dashboard deployed on to Infoview? Or do the access rights only deal with all or nothing scenarios?
Thanks,
Jeanne
for the Xcelsius dashboard there is no security level for the controls inside the dashboard.
you give access for all the file or not,
otherwise you have a restriction to the data coming into the dashboard if you have it live data dashboard and you do that at the source level .
good luck

now you are talking about data security?
like if you have data for five (5) countries and you have (5) users.
and you want user A to see only data for country AA
this has to be done at the universe level, you have many ways to do that,
you may use ur own custom way as i'm doing usine @Variable('BOUSER')
which returns the user name of the current session and you should handle those things in your database, "you have to have a security system in your database"
or you can use options provided by Business Objects as follow:-
- in the uninverse designer import the universe
- Click "Tools -> Manage Security->Manage Access Restrictions"
i'm sure you need to read the universe designer guide to know how to manage this option.
good luck
