Necessary Steps to connect to ITS from Portal

Hi Experts,

as I am facing problems to connect via SSO to ITS of our Solution Manager from Portal:

SAP Web AS Connection and Connector Test are successful.

SAP Web AS Connection

An HTTP/S connection to http://<FQDN>:<PORT>/sap/bc/bsp/sap was obtained successfully.

ITS Connection:

An HTTP/S connection to http://<FQDN>:<PORT>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui was not obtained successfully; this might be due to a closed port on the Firewall.

On SolMans SPRO test of the service sap-bc-gui-sap-its-webgui was successful - login possible.

Host and Port are valid.

As it is possible to connect to Web AS to the same port 8001 in this scenario, for me there is no firewall problem.

What could be the cause forthe connection error?

thanks in advance

Tom

If you have Integrated ITS...it should have the same host like WAS

Set the ITS path to /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/

Also activate WebGui services from SICF

If you are having Integrated ITS....do you really need ITS connection parameter in portal?

Hey,

meanwhile I solved the problem - connection to ITS is succesfully established.

(Problem using the FQDN of the server but icm/host_namefull was not set in profile nor in portal servers hostfile)

(ITS path : /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui without /wegui it won`t work)

BUT

I don`t know if it is necessary to connect to ITS if it is integated - but as you have to activate the services to use the webgui it seems not to be complete senseless, or am I wrong?

kind regards

Tom

Hi,

Your last sentence is not clear. Can u explain about that in detail?

Using the webgui means needing the ITS and its services.

integrated does not mean that it will work without activating the service(s).

(Per default the .../ITS/.. services are deactivated.)

If we want to use the webgui of an abap system from portal - we have to maintain the its connection data inside the system object.

clear enough?

kind regards
