MDM Monitoring

Hi All,

I a newbie here and this is my first post - so please bear with me!!!

Regarding the CCMS plug-ins that can be installed so you can monitor the MDM system; are these plug-ins standalone, or do you also need to install WebAS too? Is this the only method for monitoring MDM - and if you have to install WebAS anyway, why not just use the standard Netweaver monitoring functionality (Alert Management etc)...confused - a little.

Any help / advice appreciated.

Hi Timothy,

You need to have Web Application Server for CCMS. You can also use Solution Manager for Monitoring MDM.

The above two methods as well as other MDM Stand alone monitoring via Logs etc is explained in the MDM 5.5 SP3 Solution Operation Guide <a href="http://service.sap.com/instguides">MDM 5.5 SP3 Solution Operation Guide</a> under the path SAP Netweaver/Release 04/Operations.

I personally never worked on any of the above Netweaver monitoring tools (CCMS and SM).
