In VC to link BOM items in to characteristics values of KMAT Material

Hello Guru's,

Will anyone share your expertise that I had created a KMAT Material ABC (Configurable ) and i defined characteristics and its values, I created a BOM with the same Name of KMAT Material i.e, ABC and all the components of BOM are defined as a separate materials using transaction MM01.

I want to link the BOM elements into KMAT material ABC characteristics and it values using dependencies will anyone guide me the procedure / will recomand any procedure to do it. It will be of great help.

Hi,

You have to use Dependencies (probably procedure or selection condition) to update the BOM components to the material based on the value of the characteristics.

Steps are as follows.

1. Create the dependency (Selection condition)

The syntax for teh dependency is

MODEL EQ u2018RACINGu2019 WHERE Model is the name of the characteristic and Racing is its value.

2. Now you have to assign this characteristic to the specific component of the BOM. This completes the config/masterdata part.

Now if you go to the sales order and do the configuration you can see the BOM Component automatically populated.
