hi,

If req. to have the below added advantages then STO is used:

The transfer of stock using a stock transport order has the following advantages over the transfer of stock without a stock transport order:

● A goods receipt can be planned in the receiving plant.

● You can enter a vendor (freight vendor) in the stock transport order.

● Delivery costs can be entered in the stock transport order.

● The stock transfer order is part of MRP: Purchase requisitions that were created in MRP can be converted into stock transport orders.

● The system can run an availability check for the stock transfer.

hope it helps...

Hi,

when u want to move ur stock from one plant to another plant we use STO.

here u can follow two methods direct plant to plant transfer

other one is u make a po then issue the goods from issuing plant, capture excise, then do GRN in receiving plant, post the excise.

STO is Stock Transport order. It is used for inter company transfer of goods. Plant to plant transfer and even transferring raw material to Third party contractors (Job Work).

Example: If you see a automobile company having multiple plant. Then they may be having a plant for manufacture engines and a plant for assembly plant is different. Then engines can be transport from one plant (Engine Plant)to other plant (Manufacturing Plant) using STO.

STO between two plants within a single company code is used because in this case only excise duties are passed through one plant to another plant(no CST/VAT) .In this case no invoice receipt is carried out since the accounting entries are generated at company code level

As per central board of excise & customs rule ,we have to show how much excise duties are passed from one plant to another.Because the two plants are having separate excise registration.

Stock transfer is used when the company is not under excise regulations.

hope u are satisfied.

HI,

1)u have to go T-Code-ME21N

2)and select Document Type UB and post the STO

3)Receive the Material by T-code MB1B and the Movement Type 351.

This will create Accouting Document

4) You can see the Stock in Transit by T-code-MB5T

5) Do GR by MIGO and Movement Type 101

If helpful Award points
