Hi,
What is SNP, PPDS PDS and multi mode ECC Master recipes?
I am new to this subject, can you please share the basic knowledge about this.
Thanks in advance,
Imran.
Master Recipe:
A master recipe is used to specify the operations and phases required in a production process in Process Industries. When you create a process order, the system selects a master recipe. The individual operations and phases of the master recipe, as well as the material list and other recipe data, are taken over into the process order. In order for a master recipe to be selected for a process order, the recipe, as a rule, must have the status Released (depends on your chosen settings in Customizing).
PDS:
PDS is termed as Production Data Structure in APO. It is a structure generated in SAP APO from a production version or bill of material in SAP R/3. The structure contains information about the production cycle and the component assignment for the production of a product. It is used as a source of supply for In-house Production in APO.
Production data structures that are generated from R/3 master data (through CIF) contain data from:
Bill of material
Routing
Master recipe
In PPDS PDS, combination of modes will be specified for different activities, whereas in SNP PDS only one mode is allowed in an activity.
While creating Integration models transferring BOMs, Routing, and Master Recipes in R/3 you define a PDS type (either PPDS or SNP)
hope this information helps you to get an overview. Please look into the below link to get a complete idea.
