Hello Gurus
Please help me
The situation is like this....
At my client side the time recording system sends employees data to SAP.
The data involves no. of hours of attendence , emp absences and overtime. The hours of overtime ,attendence and absences are transfered to SAP system. No time events are transferred,I mean not the clock in clock out but just the number of hrs.
So I know, the employees attendences goes to 2002, absences goes to 2001,will the overtime go to 2002 or 2005.
Please help
Thanks
Hi sagarika,
First of all you have ask you client what type of time mgmt they want to follow.
As per your given info you are not evaluating any time events means you are not going to evaluate time events
Which tells you that hv to follow negitve time mgmt. In such cases you no need to input hour attended by employee. Unless untill there is a deviation
Here you hv to follow negitive Time Mgmt. Deviations you can record in IT2002 for example OT etc.
OT U Can do it on 2005 based on requirement
For the OT you need create seperate time type
Absences any way you going to record in 2001

Thanks Adi
So if i go like this as this is clients requirement
attendences 2002
absences 2001
overtime 2002
which time recording will it be considered...positive or negative and which schema's and TM status we will be using for employees following this type of recording.
Please help me
Your help is much appreciated....
Thanks
Sagarika,
TM status in the infotype 7 is set as 1 for the Hourly employees(or Positive Employees),and as 9 for the Salaried Employees (Negative Employees).Generally OT will be calculated for Hourly or Salaried Non Exempt Employees only. And this OT will be calculated with the rules written in the schemas unless your company has decided to pay OT with the attendance types created for OT.
Hope this helps!
Yes Venkat...your answer is absolutely helpfull...but this is my situation
My client is using time recording terminal to enter data of employees and that has to be sent to SAP( Its not been implemented yet)
We are using kronos as time recording terminal....
the data from kronos doesnt get transfered as time events ,its transfered as number of hours of attendences, absences and overtime.,
Here overtime is calculated before even sending data to the legacy / SAP system.
As i havent dealt with situation like this before,I am confused,
Acc to my understanding Attendences goes to 2002
absences to 2001....
still thinking where does the overtime goes
As there are many overtimes defined in the company so i m thinking of recording that in 2002 instead of 2005....
a program will be run and all data from the time recording terminal will be transfered to SAP infotypes;
Now all these employees are hourly.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
I think we will be using TM04 here and what time management status we will be using..........please help me....
I did a small mistake in my previous message.I wanted to edit that but as question is marked as answered ,I could not correct that. Please find the correction below.
As per OT calculations,If they have been calculated before sending to infotype, then its better to have a seperate attendance type to record the Over time. Then they will go to 2002 only with a different att.type.
i think data from time recording machine goes to 2011 infotype.
in teven table.whats actually the problem?

We are replacing some legacy system where data from the time recording terminal goes as attendence hrs, absence hrs and overtime hrs and not as clock in and clock out.
When SAP replaces the legacy system, then acc to my understanding, absence hrs goes to 2001,attendences to 2002, overtime goes where???2002 or 2005?????
please help
thanks
Hi,
Since your client is replacing legacy system by SAP you may be making use of CATS or ESS for time entry.
The data goes to the respective infotypes based on the time type selected. If you select a leave time type then the data will go to 2001, attendance will go to 2002. If for overtime the time type used is attendance then data will go to 2002. If the time type is overtime then the data will go to 2005.
Thanks,
Preetham
