Determining Storage Location

Hi

The Storage location rule 'MALA' is assigned in the delivery document type for determining storage location. My question is this rule is valid only for those delivery item categories that are relevant for picking?

If that is the case, then in a sales process where the delivery item category is not relevant for picking, how is the storage location determined? Are there any setting in SAP standard for this?

Stor.loc.rule in delivery type >> Specifies how the system determines the picking location when you create a delivery without entering a storage location for the items.

For picking location determination OVL3 tcode. The picking lcoation is determine on the basis of shippig pointplantship.cond.

By using above storage loaction can be determined.

As per me, Storage location rule in Delivery doc type and from OVL3, Storage Location is determined.

But if this is not maintained, then you have to enter it manually in the delivery.
