hi everybody, anyone can pls tell me about the release strategy in cantracts, and also the cofiguration part.
Dear Friend,
The Release Starategy in SAP SD is completely different from the MM functionality.
Here youhave maintained (say) a Contract (Value for that matter).
The User will create a order with reference to that contract with all functionality inherrited from the contract.
This order is called the release order wihich will allow the users to create the contract until the Quantity of the COntract = total Value of the released orders.
For this you have to do Sales Docu to Sales Docu Copy control Settings.
There Maintain the Contract Document type and the sales document details:
1. Header
2. Item
3. Schedule lines
Which you want to allow and which you want to restrict.
Also Go to VOV8 in the sales Document Type :
Reference mandatory : Put there G Reference from Contract
next go to Item categories VOV7
COmpletion Rule : Put there as B Item is completed after full quantity has been referenced.
Thus the user can create the release order only with respect to the contract functionality.
regards,
SAP SD

There is no concept of release strategy in contracts. Release orders are created for contracts. From the configuration side if the copy controls from contract to sale orders should be in place so that release orders can be created for contracts.
