Hello

Would we say that performance will be affected if i am using a datasource which is carrying my transaction data as well as i am using it to load text to my master data. This datasource is been created on a view as a transaction datasource and it does contain fields bringing up text.

Please let me know

thanks

Hi,

it is definitly faster to first load Master data and then read transactional data. If you put both in one you have tons of duplicate Masterdata entries, which all have to be collected. All you have to do is to decide what is Master data and what is transactional data.

Masterdata usually splits into a key with attributes and Text. It is not recommended to use Text as key, because you cannot be sure that the Text does not contain any characters which are not allowed in a key (for example spaces). And the key is always in upper cases. So if you want to see nice Text in your report, seperate Masterdata load.

Kind regards,

Jürgen
