Installation Problem

Former Member

Hi all,

I have installed BO XI R2 on windows xp service pack 2 O.S. And I used oracle 9i as my database during installation. During Installation I didn't gave any User name and password. After Installation I tried to logon to BO XI R2 with default user id and password.

i.e User name - Administrator

password - Blank

Then it throwed me message as 'Invalid user name or password'

Then I checked in CCM and found that CMS is not running.

I tried to start CMS but it's not starting. In one of the parameters of CMS I checked and found that CMS server in unable to connect to oracle database server. I tried to create a new cluster and connected to CMS. But CMS isn't in run state.

My Issues:

1. How to make CMS connect to oracle database.

2. how to create a new cluster [oracle] and configure to CMS.

Any help/suggestions are highly appreciated.

Regards,

Suresh.

I dont think the cluster name is the issue.

Please check the connectivity between your BO Server and the Oracle DB.

Open SQL+ and login using the schema you setup for CMS.

If you're able to connect using SQL+ then there can be many issues.

If you are sure that Oracle connectivity is good from your BOXI server, try re-installing the BOE with default SQL server in-built with the package. After you are done with the smooth installation, switch off CMS and re-configure CMS to your Oracle database (migrate or create a new database) from CCM. Ensure you have good access to the Oracle database repository have create and DBA access.

BOE comes with MySQL and not SQL Server.

Oops, I later realized that I typed SQL server instead of MySQL. I am more an Oracle guy.

Thanks for catching it up.
