Generating Authorizations Automatically

Hello Gurus

In BI 7.0, I have created a authorization object at characteristics level ZZ_DIV for 0division, i have followed the "An Expert Guide to New SAP BI Security Features" doc

but it says abt Genration of authorization automatically through DSO (0TCA_DS01) data.

However i m confused where to it is complusory to do this step, If i just want to test for this ZZ_DIV

Please thow sum lights on this step.

Sonal,

As of now automatic generation is supported for only Profit Center and Cost center. Not for custom objects. You have maintain the authorizations manually.

thanks for ur valuable reply

just one more question.

I have assigned that authorization object ZZ_DIV (0division restricted for two values) to a role

and remove the 0BI_ALL from it

still its showing all the values of 0DIVISION

for the user having that role

Did i missed any config anywhere ?

Do we need to activate and generate 0TCA_DS01,0TCA_DS02.........,0TCA_DS05, in order for Authorizations to work. I do not have authorization data coming from external source. I will be creating few users. My question is do we still need these DSO's to be activated, if so do I use flat file to load the data.
