HI

Cost element is a cost carrier and WBS element can be a cost object. Cost element alone cannot have cost with it, it has to be posted with cost object.

I hope, it clears your doubt

Hi!

Cost element is a cost carriers, which carries a cost.

Cost Center or WBS or Internal Order or Production order are Cost objects - cost collectors, which collects the costs finally after posting the transaction. For any GL to which you have prepared as a cost element, one of above mentioned cost objects is required to be assigned.

Hope it clears to you. Pls revert back for any further query.

Thanks & Regard,

Cost Elements are not cost carriers, Cost object are cost carrier, Eg: WBS Element, Cost Centers, PO, e.t.c.

Cost objects capture the cost and carry then .

Cost element represents a cost relevent item in FI. The general ledger records the transactions and profit and loss accounts are repesented as cost / revenue items in Controlling

All of you Correct your self.
