Optimization only admin task

Is it possible to set up a user so that they are able to optimize an application but not have rights to maintain dimensions or security?

Hi,

you could create a Package (DTS/SSIS) for Optimization and create a Team for Users who should be able to Optimize.

Via Datamanager you can allow the Team to execute this Package.

BPC comes with an Admin_Optimize package already. It is under the PackageFiles directory Examples. You just need to add it to your package list using eData > Organize Package List ..., Add a package to a package group, select it from the Examples directory.

Hi Vanessa,

This is possible by creating a standard user (with no admin rights), give it rights to a special 'optimize' team. Then create a datamanager package for optimize (there is one example in the example folder) and give only this team access to this package. The user should now be able to perform a optimize from BPC for Excel.
