FICA: Main transactions

Hi,

Does anybody know if there is any significance behind having a two digit main transaction or three digit main transactions in FICA?

Eg: Depoit - 0020, Consumption bill receivable: 0100 etc.

Thanks,

Amol

Hi Amol,

These internal main transactions available in the system and they have been used and hard coded in various standard programs. These are not meant for changes.

Technincally, it does not make any difference as long as the no. of digits in main transaction is up to 4.

Thanks

Hi Amol,

main and sub transactions are 4 digits as u know.Based onthe scenario we create different main and sub transaction(external).

SAP has provided us for 4 to provide maximum no. of permissibilities for to enter to different postings.

for eg. Main transaction for Transfer Posting: 1015

its provided for us to allow maximum no. of possibilities for to post an account.

That's true. But I was trying to understand if SAP has any naming convention behind creating a two digit (deposit - 20) or a three digit main transaction (invoice - 100).
