Enterprise Structure

Hi Friends,

I need some clarity on the Enterprise structure with regards to MM

There are 2 company codes A and B

A has a Purchase Org AAA and 2 plants - A1,A2

B has a Purchase Org BBB and 2 plants - B1,B2

Now can the Purch Org AAA be involved for purchases done for plants B1 or B2 ??

Please throw some light on this...

Hi

Here is the link that explains the relation between Company code, plant & Purchasing organisation.

3 type of purch organisations:

1) Plant specific :Assigned to a particular plant and responsible for that plant only. ( 1purch org for 1 plant)

2) Company code specific - Assigned to the Plants within the company code as well as company code. Responsible for procurement for all the plants in that particular company code.

3) Client specific - Assigned to all the plants and responsible for all the plants in all the company codes

From the above it is mandatory that purchasing organisation must be assigned to a plant for procurement.

As per your input details,

Yes, Purhcase org AAA can be used for purchasing to plant B1 or B2, provided that purhcase org should be assigned to plant B1 or B2.

HI,

If you assign the Purchase Org to the plants then obviously the system will allow purchasing activities through this purchase org. Assignment is done in OX17

Hi

You can buy if different Company Code. The buy depend on company code.

If Purchase Org not assign with Company Code or AAA and BBB assign with different Company Code, you can buy.

If you dont assign the Purchase org to any company code than that purchase org can buy for any plant

Yes they can, assign the plants B1, B2 to the PORG AAAA in OX17
