Error with @prompt in a Universe
i am trying to build a self restricting join with an @prompt so users will be required to enter a date range for all queries against a specific table. the code in the expression is:
start_date BETWEEN @prompt('Enter Start Date (Start):','D',,mono,free) AND @prompt('Enter Start Date (End):','D',,mono,free)
when i build a query through webi (xir2), the generated sql looks great - the restriction from the expression is in the where clause, but when i hit run query, i get an hour glass and that's it. the prompt page never displays and the query is never executed.
i have tried changing the parameters and even removed the ' ' from the D, but nothing seems to make it work. i hope i'm just missing a formating thing.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

your prompt i think is correct
the parameter window doesnt appear in coz of the java version you use
wat version of Business Objects you use, and wat version of java?
if you are using XI R2 Sp1. then you have to have java 1.4 only
try to uninstall the java, and open the webintelligence it will ask you to download its compatible java version from the server itself.
