What is the use of Dangerous goods profile and environmental relavant fields in Basic data view 2.

Dear,

Dangerous goods profile consists the guidelines or instructions useful for the material while packing, transportation and delivery. This also enables the buyer to check shipment documents according to dangerous goods regulations of the country.

For Example for some special reasons you are importing explosives. For this material basing on the exporting and importing country regulations certain procedures to be followed, documentation to be done, special dangerous handling packaging to be done etc etc. These all instructions you maintain in a profile and assign in material master. Some customization also need to activate this profile.

Environmentally relevant : If the material do any harm to environment or not? Means is there any problems for environment or health if to avoid this, what measures to take in this materials for Example. Emmission permissions required from Govenment authorities for importing / exporting. You can say Product Safety.

Dangerous Goods Indicator Profile

Alphanumeric key that uniquely identifies the dangerous goods profile.

You use dangerous goods indicator profiles to control applications for dangerous goods.

A dangerous goods indicator profile for the material master consists of a combination of indicators, for example:

o Relevant for dangerous goods

o Execute dangerous goods check

o Output dangerous goods documents

the DG indicator profile can only be used if you have Enviornment and health and safety (EH&S)is present in your system. it is basically used in EH&S module.

The dangerous goods indicator profile for the material master controls whether a material is relevant for dangerous goods, relevant for dangerous goods and dangerous goods documents, relevant for dangerous goods and dangerous goods checks, or relevant for dangerous goods, dangerous goods checks and dangerous goods documents. This indicator profile is used for controlling applications that are relevant for dangerous goods.

The dangerous goods indicator profile for sales and distribution documents is used to define indicators that are relevant for dangerous goods in the sales and distribution document header. For example, you can set the marginal 10011 indicator.
