Can i have equipment number in material master?

Dear,

Try IQ01 which used to add Serial numbers for a material.

Select the appropriate Category one from selection lest (F4). Example M for machinery.

But surely it will depends on the Enterprise business like for example.

in the automotive industry serial numbers are being used which are attached to a piece of equipment and the equipment is classified. The classification data for each piece of equipment (1 EA, in your case) can contain several numbers assigned to it such as, Engine number, VIN number, etc. If it suits your purpose you can follow this equipment/serial number classification concept using class type 002 (equipment).

Serial number

Specifies the serial number of a serialized material.

Use

You can use the serial number to identify individual instances of a

material for individual tracking purposes.

Dependencies

A prerequisite for using a serial number in the logistical process is a

serial number profile at material plant level.

Hi,

You cannot have Equipment number in MMR, as the field is not present in MARA, MARC, MARD tables.
