Fail on installing Netweaver CE 7.1 on Win XP on VMWare 6.*

Hi,

Have anyone successfully installed Netweaver CE 7.1 on Win XP on VMWare 6. I have experienced the crash of sapinst soon after its start-up.

I have CE 7.1 and CE 7.1.1 running in separate virtual machines, so it is possible.

What do the logs in sapinst_dir say?

Have you installed the loopback adapter, edited the host file and assigned an ip address to the loopback adapter?

Yes, I have installed lookback adapter and have updated the host file. For my case, sapinst.exe crashes very soon, just 1 minute after it start up. The error message is as follows:

"Program is starting... Please wait!

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Exit status of child: 3
