Material Subject to Batch Management

Dear All,

In production client, the user by mistake has put the tick for batch management while creating material.Actually, the material was not subject to batch management.

Later, PO was created. At the time of GR against this PO, the store clerk could not recognise that the batch has been created while doing MIGO.

Afterwards the store incharge found this. We reversed the material document and tried to correct the material by removing the tick.

Now issue is the batch mangement tick in material master is not getting removed though we have reversed/cancell the material document.

We have no stocks of the material. This was the first time created material. This was the only GR which happened and that we have already reversed. No goods issue has been done. There is no subsequent document to it. No invocie has been done.

This problem was identifed immediately after the MIGO.

We have tried everything the batch management tick is not getting removed.

Pl provide solution.

Regards

As GR Document is already Reversed Now Delete the Purchase Order Line Item / Delete Requisition also if Exist and Ensure there is No Material Stock.

Now go to MM02 and Try to deactivate the Batch Indicator. If its throw any Error just Double Click on Msg Text and Revert back with Details.

Hi,

Can you check the Display errors tab in the MMR, when you try to de-activate batch management tick, It will specify the reason for not been able to do the changes

Hi,

You can remove batch management indicator if you have no stock in current and previous period (MB1A201proper posting date to eliminate stock and MB1A+202 to reset stock level after change). I guess you should delete transactional data (e.g. mark PO item with DF) and archive batch master records.

As I remember...

Try to remove in MM02 the indicator > Save > You get error message > Click on the appearing 'Display errors' button > SAP will tell you what's the problem

As I have mentioned that there is no stock in current as well as previous period.

This material was created 2 days back and GR happened yesterday and immediately we found this issue and when we proceed to correct the material we are not able to do.

What is DF?

Thanks.

Hai,

If u want to deactivate the batch management indicator, there should not be

1. stock in current period as well as in previous period.

2. any open purchasing documents like PR & PO's

3. anyopen production orders or BOM's.

4. any open sale orders.

So remove the stock if stock exists. Mark the Open PO's or production orders or Sale orders with flag for deletion indicator. DF - deletion flag icon at the item overview of PO.

Hi,

DF - deletion flag (the trush bin in ME22N)

It is interesting that you did GR and you have no stock... No stock means that not only 'no stock' at the moment, but any day from the last day of the previous period till now.

If you did GR 2 days ago you had stock on that day.

In this case you'd better cancel the goods movement. And it was also told that no stock is not enough (e.g. your batch master exists and it has to be archived).

Please try to change and check what SAP says.

Csaba
