Incosistent CSV format download(Crystal Mgmt Console)

Hi Experts,

At present, we are using Crystal Reports & Crystal Enterprise. Below is our Crystal Report version details..

1. Software: Crystal Reports (CR Developer)

Product type: full

Version: 9.2.3.1011

2. Software: Crystal Enterprise Enhanced SAP Edition 9

3. Software: Crystal Enterprise

version: 9.0.1.314

While running the report from the Crystal Enterprise, we have a file format issue with a Crystal Report which FTP the CSV format file to another server... we recently changed the file format from Excel to CSV format., initially when we tested its worked fine. But, now the same report exporting file in 2 different formats in different runs. Its not consistent.

For Example : in the correct CSV file, the report data exported as page header followed by commas(',') then data continues in the same line( ex: "OPSurgeon",,,"1")..

where as in wrong CSV file format, the report header exported without commas(',') separator after the page header(ex: "OPSurgeon" "1") this resulting report data split into 2 records..

Please let me know why sometimes there is a difference in the CSV file format??... Also, please let me know if we have any chance to remove the Report Header downloading in everyline!?...

Kind Regards,

Bhasker Rao

Hi Bhasker,

When exporting the same report with the same data to the same format, and you are getting different result, then I will guess you are using a distributed environemnt and sometimes the job is done by one server, and other times the exporting is done by another server.

If it's the case, verify the exporting driver version you are using to export to CSV format is the same on each server.

The driver to export to CSV format is: u2fsepv.dll

And in Crystal Reports 9, the file are usually found in the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decions\2.0\bin

As for your question regarding removing the Report Header information from displaying on each line, there is workaround. Instrunctions on how to to so is available in the SAP Note: 1196142

Also note that in Crystal Reports XI R2 and above, you now have an option that enable you to not export the headers, or only export it once, instead of having it on each line, like it is the case for Crystal Reports XI R1 and below.
