If you are referring to the Portal 'Instant messaging' collaboration feature, the capability of recording/logging the chat sessions does not seem to be provided (see https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?messageID=2591175#2591175).
The only capability I know is that Collaboration supportsrecording of some elements of an online 'session'.
