Interation of Portal with ABAP

Hi Guru's,

I am an Abaper. i would like to know if ABAP coding can be used in Portal Developments, can it be used for developments inplace of JAVA.

My question may be stupid, but can you guide me.

Webdynpro ABAP is used for devloping portal userinterfaces

Thanks for your time. I am in to MDM as ABAP developer. We need to integrate MDM with Protal (Basically I Views) where we use protal i views screen for providing single sign-on for enduser.

Can ABAP take care of this as JAVA does in Portal.

Hi,

In this regard i dont think you will get much help from ABAP.

Bcoz as you know you only have JAva APIs when intergrating MDM with portal.

I dont think you would have chance of bringing ABAP into the picture.

This is my view only.I am analysing this as far as my knowledge.

I am not clear on this.

Hi,

We have also ABAP API's in MDM now. we can use ABAP coding too. This is the reson why iam asking can an ABAPer work with I Views ( Configuring and Integrating ).

Hi,

As an ABAPer your coding would be handfull if you integrate it with web dynpro ABAP.

so that you will have access to the portal.

and can design your frontend in portal.

which requires your ABAP coding and all other things you will use in ABAP.

Another option would be with BSPS which will also be usefulll.
