Hello everybody,

is it possible to read/write files to the (my) local directory via FTP Adapter?

How do I have to configure the communication channel?

Thanks a lot.

HI Mario

It is very Much Possible...but for this you need to FTP sevice on your local system..and the file should be in your FTP root folder...

For settings of FILE Adapter...CHK Out

Use FTP instead of NFS as a Transport Protocol

Cheers:-)

Hello Mario,

silly question, why don't you use the file adapter, and maybe a shared drive?

hi,

Everything has been said almost, but i may also suggest you to have a look at this for your question,

How do I have to configure the communication channel?

/people/venkat.donela/blog/2005/03/03/introduction-to-simple-file-xi-filescenario-and-complete-walk-through-for-starterspart2

Here you can get a fair bit of idea on the communication channel settings and FTP connection parameters.

Refer part 1 for the design part.

All the best!

hi,

yes 2 ways:

- you can set up a simple FTP server on your local computer - very fast and easy (there are some free ftp servers)

- you can try mapping one of your folders so that they will be visible from the XI

these are the only ways
