All,

What is IS utilities stands for? Is security for IS utilities/CCS is same as like R/3? Pls some body explain me clearly...

In Generic sap,

What is IS utilities stands for?

IS UTILITIES stands for Industry specific Utiliities

Is security for IS utilities/CCS is same as like R/3?

we have sap modules like SAP MM,SD,HR,PP,PM,PS,...

all the above modules are basic modules. these fit into any industry .

without these generic modules no industry exists.

the following are some examles of industries

Retail,Utilities,petro chemicals,health care,education,automobiles....

Apart from it there are lot of IS Solutions offered by SAP.

SAP for Aerospace & Defense

SAP for Automotive

SAP for Banking

SAP for Consumer Products

SAP Contract Accounts Rec. and Pay

SAP Deposits Management

SAP for Defense & Security

SAP for Engineering, Constru. & Oper.

SAP for Financial Service Provider

SAP for Healthcare

SAP for Higher Education & Research

SAP for High Tech

SAP for Insurance

SAP for Media

SAP for Mill Products

SAP for Mining

SAP for Oil & Gas

SAP for Professional Services

SAP for Public Sector

prince here..IS/U stands for industry solutions @ utilities and also called as industry services @ utilities in different countries..

its a sap module integrated particularly for the use of utility service companies which provide electricty 0r gas 0r water or waste water treatement and even street lights

its a module just in simple terms u can call that as a billing engine which bills and invoices the customers cpnsumption no matter he s a residential or industrial sap si/u can handle it..

r/3 integration is needed to handle sap is/u though its a integrated module..
