Moving Average Price initial stock upload

Hello Gurus,

Is there a special consideration that I need to take while handling moving average price during initial stock uploads?

I am not sure how the initial value of MAP for raw materials will go in the system and hence populate the inventory account that is plugged to the BSX key? Any suggestions/advice

You basically have 2 choices for loading inventory (quantity and value) for MAP materials.

1. Set the MAP in the material master, and then just populate the quantity in the 561 movement.

2. Regardless of whether or not you have input a MAP in the material master, populate both the quantity and the amount field (Amount in local currency) in the 561 movement. Note: don't fill in the MAP in this field, fill in the total value of that much quantity, such as coming from the total value for thie part number (in this location, for this batch etc...) from the legacy system. This field is in the item detail screen. If you don't see this field, check field selection to see if someone has it suppressed. Following this option causes the 561 movement to post the total quantity and total value (hence automamtically updating the MAP that is displayed in the material master). In other words, this option does not even use the MAP in the material master, so you can leave it at 0 and it will get set via this initial entry.

Standard price materials need a standard price in the master before loading inventory.
