Running std cost estimate in the middle of the month

Is it possible to run std cost estimate in the middle of the month?

I mean if i run std cost estimate, mark, release on Sep 20 and want it to be effective from Oct1......how is it possible?

Dear Umesh,

I dont think that's possible.check this,

1.If your Costing Run date is some future date ,but the Costing Date from,Qty Structure Date,Valuation

date is on system's date,then the system will allow to release the cost and the same can be checked

under Planned Price,Standard price under Current Column in Costing 2 view.

2.If your costing run date is current date & the valuation,Qty structure date is some future date,then the

system will not allow you to release the cost.

So with this check & revert back.

I like to add that we have already released cost estimate in jul'08 (period- 01/2009) upto Jun'09 (period-12/2009) as per US fiscal year for the finished goods.

Now the client says that due to significant changes in the raw matl costs, they again want us to do cost roll (Std cost estimate).

My question is can i run cost estimate (including mark & release) on say Sep 23,08 which I want to be valid from Oct 1, 08 till Jun'09. Will the system allow me to run estimate in the middle fo the month?

Try to understand.

You can create the cost estimate in CK11n

In the date Tab

Costing date from - 01.10.2008

To 31.06.2008

Qty structure date - 23.09.2008, valuation date - 23.09.2008.

Then run the cost estimate.

System takes the cost and BOM data from 23rd and the cost of the product is valid from 01.10.2008.

Today you create and save the Std cost estimate.

Today you run CK24 and mark and release with the period 01.10.2008.

Hence you will get the std cost from 10.2008...

This can't be achieved.Say today if you are carrying out the Cost Rollup,mark,Release then from the next

moment it becomes valid.On the other side,that cost estimate(value - Price) will be valid till the next time you re

carrying out the cost rollup,I mean Cost estimate.

It is possible.

Create a std cost estimation costing date from oct 1st to any date and mark and release in Oct 1st.

Did you relase the cost estimation in sept already?
